Much has been discussed on whether Pinoys are really good enough for spoken English work: outsourced call centers, primarily. Lately, the talk has been about Pinoys taking over the blogosphere.

But is our English good enough? This is asked in the portrait of Blogger as Filipino, Jayvee’s survey of the Pinoy Blogger’s world success.
I think yes because:

• Writing blogs is not real time. You don’t have to think on your feet. You can write, spellcheck and have somebody else check your writing.
• Blogging English is conversational and casual.
• In the blogosphere, nobody would hear your accent or wrong (or “Filipino English”) pronunciation.
